Introduction
Featuring a range of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments and villas within the increasingly sought-after and thriving area of Bermondsey, AGF recently worked with London developers Telford Homes on a high-rise commercial project known as The Villas. We felt it best to fabricate and supply doors using Reynaers aluminium systems for the build, allowing for low u values and large glazing weight accommodation.
Ambition
With Bermondsey soon set to benefit from improved transport – thanks to the announcement of a new London overground station – The Villas is intended to provide accommodation for resident Londoners who frequently use these amenities. It’s all part of an ongoing regeneration project in the area, and the commercial project would only aid to Bermondsey’s emerging reputation as the capital’s “coolest quarter” as dubbed by Vogue magazine.
Timescale
Completed in the Summer of 2017, The Villas were finished to a high standard and right on schedule. The show homes were made available for viewing on September 14th, being a great choice of urban apartment living with all the benefits modern people expect from a 21st century development including a private gym, dedicated roof terraces and optional underground parking.
Installation
The AGF team took the liberty of fabricating and supplying the CS86HI, CP155LS, CS77, and CW50 aluminium door systems on site, very much acting as the icing on the cake to the great work Telford Homes had accomplished. Each unit was installed across the striking 18-storey tower and contemporary lower rise 6-storey buildings, all accommodating various glazing thicknesses depending on whether they were intended for use in an apartment or villa.
Outcome
Upon completion, The Villas now offer a stylish collection of 148 individual living spaces, tying in perfectly with Bermondsey as an up and coming modernised quarter. All the Reynaers doors fitted will continue to remain attractive and high-performing well into the future, thanks in part to AGF’s incredible attention to detail during initial fabrication.
